"No man is an island."
Indeed.
In all your years of existence on earth, there
is at least one person you can call a true friend. Yet there are those
who come into your life who pretend to be true friends, only to find
out in the long run that they were never even close to being friends
at all.
Either way, these people teach us very meaningful
lessons that we bring with us in the journey called life. Andy Rooney
perfectly put these into words in his composition, "What I've Learned."

I've learned...
that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today,
life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.

that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these
three things: 1) a rainy day, 2) lost luggage, 3) tangled Christmas
tree lights.

that life sometimes gives you a second chance.

on the back.

that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did,
but people will never forget how you made them feel.

that the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly
person.

that when you're in love, it shows.

that just one person saying to me, "You've made my day!"
makes my day.

that being kind is more important than being right.

that you should never say no to a gift from a child.

that I can always pray for someone when I don't have the
strength to help him in some other way.

that no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend
to act goofy with.

Friends are very rare
jewels, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed.
They lend an ear, they share words of praise and they always want
to open their hearts to us.
