MORE GOOD NEWS FOR MODERATE DRINKERS
courtesy of Booze.com

We have often said that moderate drinking is beneficial to your health. Here’s some more new research to back us up on our facts.

Research has shown that moderate drinkers generally feel better about their health. The findings apply to those who drink beer and spirits, as well as wine lovers. Previous studies have suggested that a daily glass of wine helps people stay healthy. From data collected from Spain’s 1993 National Health Survey, showed that people who drank alcohol were less likely to report ill health, rather than people who abstained all together.

Overall, the higher the consumption of total alcohol, the lower the levels of subjective ill health. Even the heaviest drinkers felt happy about their health regardless of the damage they may be doing to themselves.

Furthermore, research published in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, suggest that wine and beer drinkers are more optimistic about their health whatever their consumption. Although heavy spirit drinkers were not quite as joyful.

To conclude this research, findings should not be used to promote even the moderate consumption of alcoholic beverages, as this could lead to a rise in heavy drinking and its associated morbidity and mortality burden.
