Pinoy Blogs

Filipinos
have inevitably been at par with the rest of the world when it comes to
the utilization of the Web. I guess the most popular fad that had
sprung from it is the so-called “blogging”.
A blog is an online diary or journal, consisting one’s
personal thoughts about a particular subject like entertainment,
fashion, food, sports, travel, technology and a lot more.
In
the Philippines, there are several and credible names in the “art of
blogging”. I chose the term “art” because for them, it’s more
than just a typical hobby but a voluntary allegiance to write for their
intended readers. Here are among the widely read Pinoy-authored blogs
that may interest you:
http://anton.blogs.com
- Our Awesome Planet, for instance, is a mixture of diverse adventures.
Anton, the author, is not even an acquaintance of mine, but he
generously shares whatever he has come across with. His blogs will also
tell you where to go, and not to. Yes, blogs do not rave about positive
things alone. On some occasions, it also works as an announcement board
for griping over a bad experience and the like. Nonetheless, everyone
is free to agree or disagree. Because of blogs’ inherent interactive
format, readers are also allowed to post or leave a comment.
When
it comes to desserts, http://www.dessertcomesfirst.com/
may also come first on the list. One of the finalists for the Home and Living
Category (2007 Philippine Blog Awards) same as Anton’s, this blogspot
showcases the expertise of a food writer. Oh, and the photos are awesome that
you can readily forget a diet! In fact, this is what makes blogs most
interesting -- the combination of text with images, web pages and links to other
blogs.
If
you are on the search for new places to visit and discover the unfamiliar world
out there, let Ivan be your tourist guide through http://www.ivanhenares.blogspot.com/.
With a throng of recent destinations, any reader would not suspect that this guy has
the passion that drives him to be a wanderer and a heritage activist at the same
time. There is also no single doubt why he had won the Best Travel Blog for the
2007 Philippine Blog Awards.
Well,
for me, a blog (at least in its most practical definition) serves as
the B-est L-iving O-utlet for expressing one’s views and feelings
about anything under the sun, while G-aining spontaneous responses.
Pinoy blogs are also a nifty way of giving the latest information
or the “in” things, especially to Filipinos overseas who want to
take a glimpse of what’s new and how things are back home.
