When Hearts Have
Spoken...
by Dulce Amor Niño Valentine
2007
For
every joy, there is pain… for every laughter, there are tears… and
for every good beginning, I hope there will be a happy ending. For me,
this is what love’s about - not to be judged on a pessimistic point
of view, rather to see the meager truth behind this complex four-letter
word L-O-V-E. Yet, the best way we can define love is when we start to
have a first-hand experience on it. I’m sure all of us have different
stories to tell. These are what my three girl pals have to share…
 Arnaud
and Michelle found love at work. They had never thought that intimacy would grow
between them. Exchange of emails was part of their daily routines until they
found themselves incessantly sending sweet notes to one another. Indeed,
distance is not a hindrance. He, then, came all the way from France to finally
meet the woman of his dreams. Culture, language and the like were not considered
as barriers, rather they’ve learned to share every bit of who they are to make
each one complete. Both are now enjoying their parenthood, with a cuddly baby
boy.
 I
suppose everyone of us wishes that one day we’ll walk down that aisle and say
“I do”. This had just come true for Julie and Anthony who affirmed their
vows at no less than the historical yet picturesque Baluarte de San Diego
Gardens in Intramuros, Manila. At this very spot were courageous souls died for
what they believe was worth all their blood and gore for a country at war, the
newlyweds went on to some revolutions of sorts on that same site.… a unifying
one, and an act of courage just the same. Having been married for almost two months,
the couple is looking forward to better, blissful and blessed days of their
lives.
It’s
amazing how two people, far away from their homes, would find love in a foreign
land. Evgenii
is
a Russian and Rhodora is a Filipina, but their paths crossed in Canada. Both
missing the warmth of family and friends, they suddenly felt the coziness in
each other’s company. Constantly dating, going steady and getting engaged led
to promising forever. While Canada remains to be their home sweet home, they
plan to visit Manila soon for the very first time as partners. Rhoda added,
“wherever Eugene and I may be, we know in our hearts we belong together”.
This
Valentine, we are also enjoined in reminiscing our own tales of love…
imagining the good old days, refreshing our minds with those memories, and
anticipating the best to come. So make the most of this moment!
Whatever love
brings, let your heart speak.
